Tried to squeeze in two more for 1980. Â Had to go for two documentary shorts.

This is a portrait of the Warsaw railway station. Â I don’t know if it was commissioned by the Polish Government. Â If so, I don’t see how they would have approved. Â Kieslowski makes this station seem like a non-stop exercise in frustration. Â I loved the [security? spy?] cameras on the wall. Â We get many shots of them, always with ominous music swelling up. It’s got kind of a low rating but I thought it was amusing.
Gadajace glowy (Talking Heads)

This one was by far the more profound. Â Kieslowski asked people from age 1 to 100 these three questions: Â When were you born? Â Who are you? Â What do you want from life? Â The Poles mostly want something to change in society. Â It’s a very interesting exploration of the human condition.

If you are stuck on 1980 reviews can I recomend Khubsoorat (hey, it’s not Japanese! but it is foriegn LOL)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0244585/
Very highly rated (didn’t like it BUT it’s also not Japanese 😉 )
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079579/
And (sorry it’s Japanese and a series) Kage no Gundan AKA Shadow Warriors – IMO Sonny Chiba’s best by far (seasons 1&2 only and disregard tie 2003 revisit)

You make it sound like I don’t love Japanese movies! I do. And the Indian movie sounds interesting.
“You make it sound like I don’t love Japanese movies! I do” Soooo it’s just my relentless pushing, so hurtful LOL
Yeah, watch K, it’s good.
