This British programmer is nothing special. I found the plot confusing and the solution unsatisfying in the extreme. It is of note mainly for an early performance by Alistair Sim as a reporter. I was going to comment that his Scottish accent was a bit much only to find out that Sim was born in Edinburgh! What do I know?

Is that Alistair Sim in the first picture with Ann Todd? If it is, he certainly changed dramatically with years. I noticed that Edmund Lowe was also in the movie but that isn’t him
No, I believe that is Sebastian Shaw. I couldn’t find a good picture of either Edmund Lowe or Alistair Sim from this movie. There weren’t many to choose from! Alistair Sim basically looked like a younger version of the same actor we know and love. (To me, he is Ebenezer Scrooge.)
Oh, the famous Sebastian Shaw!!!!! No wonder I didn’t know who it was. I couldn’t imagine that Sim looked like that in young age and I knew darn well it wasn’t Edmund Lowe. I never heard of the film and did you notice the alternate title, “The Squeaker”?…..sounds like a cartoon. Doesn’t appear to be one I will be looking for.
A “squeaker” is or was apparently a “stool pigeon” in British slang.
