Here is a cast photo from the movie I introduced my brother and niece to yesterday.  They loved it and so do I.  My old review is here. Hope to get back to 1980 soon.

It was delightful. One thing I hadn’t really noticed before this was how tiny Bette Davis really was. Her personality was so outsize I never paid attention to her height.

She was! As was Crawford. They photographed larger, in part, due to proportions and head size. The head size phenomena goes for men as well. Take a look at Ronald Colman’s head in relation to his shoulders. Of course, some short men stood on “apple boxes” in close shots with their leading ladies. Alan Ladd, Charles Boyer, etc.

Interesting. I remember going to Grauman’s Chinese when I was a kid and marveling at how little the actress’s feet were.
