We had a mostly cool and beautiful holiday in the Pacific Northwest. I’m ready to be back and watching my beloved old movies but not quite ready for the heat.
Here’s what we saw when we stopped in Stevenson, Washington on the Columbia River Gorge.
… and a rose at Portland’s International Test Rose Garden.

The first shot above tells me you were head over heels happy with your trip…….or you tripped and went head over heels…..
Welcome ‘ome.
Maybe both?
I dream of such places. And that relief from the heat. So sorry you still have to go through August. I am heading back to Northern Europe for that most painful month.
Put on some aircon, pull those shutters down and watch some good, old stuff.
Will do! Northern Europe sounds like paradise in August. I have many fond memories of Finnish summers.
Too many cold lovers here……….brrrrr, hate it. 25C+ rules OK.
Am I the only win seeing an issue with shot 1?? Maybe it’s not tagged correctly for viewing from the southern hemisphere LOL.
25C is the greatest! I think Thomas and I are taking issue with weeks and weeks of temperatures over 38C. Yesterday, it was 41 C here and likely to continue through August. That’s when 20C starts sounding like paradise.
What is your issue with my picture?
Ok, ya got me there, 38+ starts getting a mite too hot.
Picture 1, for me, is upside down
Looks fine to me! Hmmm …
I should have thought of this first….look at it in Pale Moon (a Firefox clone) and it’s fine, look at it in Iron (a chrome clone) and it’s upside down. Must be a coding issue, I’d not worry about it, sorry I didn’t think of that before I posted you.
