I take a break from the regularly scheduled programming to enjoy 30 days watching and reviewing little else but film noir beginning today. I will be going on vacation from June 7 to 15 and won’t be able to post. I’ll wrap up around July 7. I’ll review the very few films I have left from 1935 in the next few days and will continue to review the weekly selections from the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die Blog Club.
I’m pretty excited about this and hope you will join me.
What is film noir? Clip from the documentary Visions of Light

Great idea! Have fun!
I hope you’ll come along for the ride. I don’t know how you feel about these films.
Yeah, good choice. I love that genre. Look forward to see what you come up with.
I needed to take a break from the 30’s and I love these films. It’ll be a mix of famous and not so famous films, concentrating on the ones I haven’t seen at first.
I can recommend “Dark Passage”. It is not on the list, but it deserves to be. It just does not get more film noir than that.
You have touched on my favorite film genres, Bea. There are so many great noir films, I wouldn’t know where to start…………well, maybe I would. Kiss Me Deadly with Ralph Meeker as Mike Hammer. Probably in the top 10 of noirs of all times.
Kiss Me Deadly is on the list! I’m going with ones I haven’t seen yet first and then coming back around.
