1968 Re-Cap and Top Favorites List

I have now watched 49 films that were released in 1968.  A complete list can be found here.  I felt that my experiment with reducing the number of movies worked out well. There were only 12 movies that I ranked 9/10 or above.  I’m listing them all in alphabetical order since I wouldn’t want to rank them.

Black Cat (Kuroneko) – Directed by Kaneto Shindo.

Faces – Directed by John Cassavetes

Funny Girl – Directed by William Wyler

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter – Directed by Robert Ellis Miller

If … – Directed by Lindsay Anderson

The Lion in Winter – Directed by Anthony Harvey

Memories of Underdevelopment (Memorias de subdesarrollo) – Directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea

Monterey Pop – Directed by D.A. Pennebecker

Night of the Living Dead – Directed by George A. Romero

Once Upon a Time in the West  (C’era una vola al West) – Directed by Sergio Leone

Rosemary’s Baby – Directed by Roman Polanski

Shame (Skammen) – Directed by Ingmar Bergman

Very nice picks. My favourites are there, so no complaints from me. Congratulations on finishing 68.
Stay safe.

Thank you and you stay safe too.
There was a level of hoarding Wednesday when the lockdown was announced, with people fighting over toilet paper!!!??? Seriously, if you need that much toilet paper maybe you should go see the doctor anyway. Now the shelves are full again and it is business as usual in the shops. Everywhere else it is empty. People take the decree not to gather in groups very seriously and children are staying home from school. We really don’t want those scenes from Italy to play out here. Those are just horrible. At this point volunteers are signing up at the hospitals to be ready, but only twenty-some people has been hospitalised. Things develop by the hour though and who knows where we are in a week.
I heard that Trump is finally taking care it somewhat serious (and blames Europe to the outbreak). I just hope it is not too late to avoid a disaster.
